Karkhana Acquires Micron EMS Tech

A New Chapter in How We Manufacture

We have an important announcement to share.

Karkhana has acquired Micron EMS Tech Pvt Ltd – a Bengaluru-based electronics manufacturing services firm with over 15 years of manufacturing experience.

This is a significant milestone, and we want to take a moment to explain what it means, why it matters, and where it fits within the broader arc of Karkhana’s work.

What Micron EMS Brings

Micron EMS is an established manufacturing company with a 40,000+ sq. ft. facility, advanced SMT lines, in-house PCBA capabilities, and full box-build operations. Their team has been building complex electronics for over 15 years with the process rigour and floor-level experience that only comes from doing this work at scale, for a long time.

What Micron EMS Brings

Bringing them into Karkhana means we now have direct ownership of a manufacturing facility, not as a vendor relationship, but as an integrated part of how we operate.

How We Got Here

Karkhana began by helping hardware teams navigate the supplier landscape. The gap we saw was real: product companies in India had difficulty identifying the right factories, validating their capabilities, and getting builds off the ground. We bridged that gap.

But the work kept surfacing a harder truth.

Access to manufacturers was not the root of the problem. The harder challenges were upstream and in-between — designs that weren’t manufacturable at scale, cost assumptions that fell apart on the shop floor, misalignment between engineering and production teams, and a persistent lack of ownership over outcomes. Teams would engage a factory and still find themselves without a clear answer for who is responsible when something goes wrong.

Electronic product companies in India

So the scope of our work expanded. We moved into DFM, into cost engineering, into owning timelines, quality, and build outcomes across multiple processes. We began treating the shipped, tested product as the actual deliverable.

That evolution – from connecting teams to carrying the outcome is what has defined the last few years at Karkhana. This acquisition is where that trajectory lands.

What Changes and What Doesn’t

With this acquisition, Karkhana can now take a project from sourcing components and PCB assemblies through to a fully built, tested product, under one roof, with one accountable team.

That means tighter integration across engineering, supply chain, and production. It means fewer handoffs, fewer gaps, and clearer ownership at every stage of the manufacturing lifecycle.

sourcing components and PCB assemblies

What doesn’t change is the intent. We’re not a different company. The brand has evolved to reflect who we’ve become, but the mission is the same, the problems we care about, the customers we serve, and the standards we hold ourselves to.

A Note on the Brand

Alongside this announcement, we’ve refreshed how Karkhana presents itself. Our identity now better reflects what we actually do: not a platform or aggregator, but an integrated manufacturing partner.

Three principles guide how we work, and they’re worth naming explicitly:

  • Listen Smart. We invest in understanding the problem before proposing a solution. Good manufacturing starts well before the factory floor.
  • Adapt Swiftly. Hardware is unpredictable. We build for that reality, adjusting without losing momentum.
  • Deliver Reliably. At the end of everything, what matters is whether the product ships, works, and holds up. That’s the standard we hold ourselves to.

What’s Next

There is more ahead in terms of capabilities, capacity, and the kinds of projects we’re equipped to take on. We’ll share more as things develop.

For now, this acquisition marks a clear point in Karkhana’s journey: from connecting the dots in manufacturing to owning the outcome.

We’re glad to be at this point. And we’re just getting started.
