Can you support mixed-technology boards with both SMT and THT components?
Yes, Karkhana.io specializes in assembling mixed-technology PCBs that include both SMT (Surface Mount Technology) and THT (Through-Hole Technology) components. With 7 high-speed SMT lines and 5 dedicated through-hole lines—including wave and robotic soldering—we’re equipped to handle complex hybrid assemblies.
We’re concerned about IP and firmware safety. How do you address that?
All customer data, including design files, BOMs, and firmware, is handled under strict NDAs and access-controlled environments. Firmware uploads and programming are done securely, with audit trails and limited personnel access. We do not share or repurpose customer IP across projects. Our facility operates with process isolation to ensure your sensitive data stays protected throughout the manufacturing lifecycle.

Can you support PCBs with fine-pitch components or BGA packages?
Yes, Karkhana.io can support PCBs with fine-pitch components and BGA (Ball Grid Array) packages. Our SMT lines are capable of placing components with pitches as small as 0.25 mm and sizes down to 03015. We use advanced pick-and-place machines, along with 3D AOI and X-ray inspection, to ensure precise alignment, reliable soldering, and detection of hidden defects—critical for BGA and fine-pitch assemblies. Whether you’re building compact, high-density boards or complex multilayer designs, we ensure quality and consistency at production scale.
Our PCBA uses a mix of local and imported components. Can you manage hybrid sourcing models?
Hybrid sourcing is something we manage regularly, many of the products we build use a mix of locally available parts and imported components. Our team works closely with your BOM and vendor preferences to ensure smooth coordination across both supply chains. We’re used to handling staggered lead times, import documentation, and buffer planning where needed. The goal is to make sure component availability never becomes a bottleneck, whether the parts are coming from India or overseas.
Do you provide design services?
We don’t offer design services as a standalone offering. However, once you’re ready for production, our engineering team actively supports with DFM (Design for Manufacturability) and DFA (Design for Assembly) reviews. We help identify potential risks, cost drivers, or assembly challenges early in the process, so your design is optimized for scale, reliability, and smooth execution. This ensures faster production cycles, fewer iterations, and a more robust product build without adding overhead to your internal design efforts.
Do you manufacture Bare PCBs?
We don’t manufacture bare PCBs in-house. However, we work with a vetted network of PCB fabrication partners, both domestic and international, to source high-quality bare boards as part of our turnkey offering. This allows us to manage the entire process end-to-end, from PCB fabrication to assembly, testing, and final integration, ensuring quality, traceability, and faster turnaround without requiring you to coordinate with multiple vendors.
