Job Summary:
We are looking for a hands-on and proactive Senior Executive – Accounts to process critical financial operations while actively contributing to process improvements and operational efficiency. This role requires a strong sense of ownership, attention to detail, and the ability to take on additional responsibilities to support organizational growth in a fast-paced, supply-chain-driven contract manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Accounts Receivable (AR):
- Responsible for AR process, ensuring accurate invoicing, timely collections, and proper cash application.
- Regularly prepare, review aging reports, address overdue accounts
- Work closely with the sales team to resolve disputes, deductions, and claims.
- Ensure compliance with GST, TDS, and other legal & Regulatory requirements.
- Periodic reconciliation of Ledger balances, 26AS records and confirmation of balances
- Prepare AR documentation for internal and external audits. Address audit queries and implement recommended improvements.
- Collaborate with ERP and Sales teams to optimize and automate AR workflows
2. Accounts Payable (AP):
- Responsible for AP processes, including vendor invoice processing, payment approvals, and disbursements.
- Resolve discrepancies related to invoices and payments in collaboration with the sourcing team.
- Build strong vendor relationships, negotiate payment terms, and ensure timely responses to queries.
- Monitor adherence to payment policies and prepare AP reports, such as aging and cash flow projections.
- Collaborate with ERP and sourcing teams to optimize and automate AP workflows.
- Prepare AP documentation for internal and external audits. Address audit queries and implement recommended improvements.
3. Inventory Management:
- Maintain accurate inventory records across all locations, including those with job-workers.
- Conduct regular cycle counts, audits, and reconciliations to minimize variances.
- Monitor lead times, order quantities, and re-order points to optimize stock levels.
- Prepare inventory performance reports, such as stock valuation and turnover ratios, and analyze trends.
- Enhance inventory management processes and leverage ERP systems to improve efficiency.
4. GL Management and Financial Closures:
- Ensuring accurate and timely posting of journal entries in the General Ledger.
- Reconcile GL accounts, and manage month/year-end closures from AR, AP & Inventory management perspective.
- Ensuring adherence to internal controls.
- Actively coordinate with internal and external auditors, providing required documentation and addressing queries.
- Stay updated on accounting standards and ensure compliance across financial operations.
5. Additional Responsibilities and Cross-Functional Support:
- Proactively take on additional responsibilities beyond the core role to support evolving business needs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Sales, and operations) to align financial goals with organizational objectives.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements across AR, AP, and inventory management functions.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, or Finance (MCom/MBA referred).
- 5–8 years of hands-on experience in accounting roles, preferably in supply-chain or manufacturing environments.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.
- Strong Accounting Skills
- Strong understanding of AR, AP, inventory management, and GL processes.
- Strong understanding of GST, TDS and other applicable tax regulations.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- A proactive mindset, with the ability to take ownership and handle additional responsibilities as needed.
